"Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go."– Truman Capote
Indeed, you dip into Venice and its whirlwind of alleys, canals, colours, you dance with the city and end up mesmerised and wondrous. It is never enough.
You could spend countless days clicking away and filling all your memory cards, but on this tour, your guide will teach you not to do that. Sure, you want to bring home photos of churches and gondolas to share with friends, but what makes you live Venice is the details. The reflections in the waters, the old marble doorbells, the clothes hanging out to dry, the cheap Spritzes in the University area, the Gothic decorations, the sunsets that take over sky, land, and water. It's not about quantity, but quality. Venice not only offer challenges that will better you as a photographer, but it will spark your artistic side as well.
Each tour is crafted to the skills and needs of the participants. Apart from taking photos, you can also expect to learn:
- Creative composition, using lines, repetition, camera angles
- Training your eye: composition, subjects, lighting
- Portraits and how to get the most out of your flash
- Taking control of your camera: f-stop, shutter speed, ISO and focusing
- Reviewing your photography
You won't be on your feet the entire time though; we will start off with a real Italian coffee in a typical café to go over your work and level of technical expertise so that our professional photographers can craft the perfect tour, suited directly to your skill set. If you have any particular location you want to shoot, just let us know, and we will work it into the itinerary.
Each tour is private, and we will not couple you with people you do not know. Feel free to bring along guests, such as other photographer friends, or your partner and family, but we ask you to limit the group to four people. This way we can work at your pace to make sure you take away the skills that last a lifetime.
