Street Photography Heaven ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was able to check out of my "normal" life last Saturday and spend six hours with an incredible photography teacher/guide and a great person named Paul, from the Aperture Tour company. We met at the Hua Lamphong Train Station in Bangkok. Paul had his Nikon and I had my Canon. He gave me a few initial suggestions and off we were for an evening of Street Photography. Within the first thirty minutes and after checking a few of my initial pictures, I knew this was going to be a very special evening. The conversation itself with Paul, all evening talking photography, and the passion a photographer needs to be different from the crowd, was worth the price of the tour. We ventured through the backstreets of Chinatown, took a Tuk-Tuk to the pier for Wat Arun and finished the wonderful day photographing a large group of Buddhist Monks gathering for prayer at Wat Bowonniwet Vihara. The combination of Paul, a great photographer and a great teacher with the wonderful Thai people, truly made it a Street Photographer's Heaven!

Great Way to Explore Bangkok ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Paul was an excellent guide and teacher. As a relatively new photographer, I learned a lot from him and had a great time in the process. After meeting Paul, we started our tour in Chinatown, exploring the alleys and buildings along the way. He was more than willing to personalize the tour based on what I was interested in. After Chinatown, we moved on to Wat Arun, where he shared more of his knowledge on things to look for to capture an interesting photo. He opened my eyes to things I never considered before taking a shot. It was a wonderful experience. I would recommend it to anyone that is considering taking a photo tour in Bangkok.

See Bangkok Through Your Lens ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I met with Paul (he's a talented award winning photo guy) in the mid-day heat of Bangkok for our tour. Once we settled in and chatted over a cool drink we started to uncover a bit more of what I was hoping to see and learn.

It took a little to find our groove but Paul started working in the photo lessons, looking for examples as we went. He's able to help teach camera techniques, but also guiding concepts of the most important piece of equipment - you! We walked through alleys, parking lots, apartments, markets, and only a few temples, looking for that unique person or story to shoot with the lens. Long day but pretty darn cool.

He can help make it as touristy or raw as you are comfortable with, in this sites and vibes of the city. I loved the continued learning and wish I had more time! I recommend having a think about what you want to get out of the day and bring some cash along for drinks, snacks, tuk tuks etc.
