The image of Jordan is already burnt into your mind, from the famous lost Rose City of Petra to the expansive Martian landscape of Wadi Rum. Now join award-winning official Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Andy Yee to help burn them into celluloid on a spectacular seven day Jordan Photography Workshop. It promises to offer you the change to capture most breathtaking monuments and landscapes the world has ever seen.

This workshop is limited to only four participants to ensure maximum attention to personal development and cover the rugged terrain as swiftly as possible. Four-star minimum accommodation will be provided. With locations selected on location, convenience and comfort with some exceptional luxury camping provided in the Wadi Rum desert.

Days 1 & 2 — Amman

The workshop starts in the capital city of Amman. Romping around the Amman citadel, we will shoot one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited places. Other highlights include Jerash, one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman sites, and the largest in Jordan.

Day 3 & 4 — Petra

Once we leave the capital behind, our first destination will be the UNESCO world heritage site of Petra. The ancient Rose City was lost to the wider world for about five centuries. We will shoot the archaeological site that is regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After we step food in the Siq and set our lenses on Al Khazneh (the Treasury), we will make our way through the site to shoot the sunset at the Monastery.

By night, the city becomes illuminated in what promises to be an unforgettable experience. Candles illuminate the path from the gorge of the Siq, which opens up to the spectacular courtyard of the Treasury. The warmth of the walls and the view of the Treasury bathed in moonlight bring together a mystique unseen during the day.

Day 5 — Wadi Rum

Next stop is one of the most strange and unique places on earth. Known in Arabic as the Valley of the Moon, the desert valley of Wadi Rum resembles a Martian landscape. The Wadi Rum has been made world-famous due in part to its inclusions as cinema locations for movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, The Martian and the recent remake of Aladdin. We will travel by 4WD to discover our own unique sunset location to capture the magic. Our accommodation here will be in luxury desert tents right in the middle of the desert. If the weather is on our side, we will shoot astrophotography under a clear sky.

Day 6 & 7 — The Dead Sea

Welcome to the lowest point on earth, The Dead Sea. There are many beauties to capture along the salty shores, so we will take the opportunity to capture some unique long exposures. The day will culminate with some much-earned relaxation at the spa. There is nothing quite like floating in the Dead Sea, watching the sun go down.

For our last day, we will return from the Dead Sea to Amman where you can choose to fly home, spend a few extra days to get to know the city, or continue the adventure and fly to Muscat to join our Oman Photography Workshop beginning 20 October 2019.

Alexander taught us so much in such a short period of time. He is smart, high energy and focused on teaching. The photos we took will be treasured for a lifetime. The teaching included camera use, taking advantage of camera features we didn't know we had, design of photos such as use of line and light to create interesting shots, use of a tripod and long exposure times at optimal camera settings to create stunning images and much more. All this knowledge was shared with grace and good humor! We highly recommend!!!

We covered some great locations, and the leader's knowledge of the area meant we didn't waste time getting to the best locations at the optimum times. The accommodation and food were excellent, and the leader's knowledge meant we got a good 'taste' of life as well as some truly memorable memories and images.
