Can I bring other people on my tour?
Yes, all of our tours are private so it will just be you, our photographer, and who ever you would like to bring along. Whether they are family, friends, or other photographers, we welcome you to bring three additional people.
What equipment should I bring?
At a bare minimum, a camera. For night photography a tripod and a cable release or remote are not necessary but would be useful. Anything else is up to you and what you want to get from the tour. If you have a polarizer, ND filters or a flash and you want to learn more about them, bring them along.
It is difficult for us to give suggestions on what lenses to bring as the answer will change from photographer to photographer. It depends on your lens arsenal, what you usually shoot with, what kind of photography you enjoy and how much weight you are comfortable carrying. Do I need a tripod?
A tripod is recommended for any of our tours that operates at night time. If you don't have one, or you're not travelling with one, you can rent a Manfrotto BeFree tripod (or similar) from us for a nominal cost. Just select the tripod extra during checkout.
Can I choose what area we photograph?
Yes. Not everyone wants to shoot the tourist attractions and the advantage of our private one on one lessons is that we can go and photograph the places that interest you. Let us know if you have a specific place in mind, or just let us know what kind of photography you are interested in, food, flowers, street, etc. and we will build a tour designed just for you.
Do I need a DSLR?
No, you don't need a DSLR. We work will all kinds of cameras including phone cameras, point and shoot cameras, bridge cameras, film cameras and DSLR. With simpler cameras, we will focus more on composition, framing and finding the best spots to take great images. If you are taking a tour that extends into night time, we do ask that your camera is possible of shooting at least 6 seconds or have a bulb setting.
What happens if it rains?
If availability permits it, we can change the date of the tour at no additional cost. Otherwise we can offer you an umbrella and try to concentrate our tours to under canapés and in arcades to make sure you can still take away great photos.
Why do you require my passport in Dubai?
On the Dubai Skyline Photo Tour, we access some rooftop terraces from some buildings and hotels of whom we have a connection. They require us to book in advance, and they request a copy of your passport. We do not use this information; it is only passed along to grant you access to some exceptional views of the city.
Do you offer tours in other languages?

Why can't I book a tour for tonight on your website?
Our system closes down the ability to book at tour between 36 and 24 hours before the start of a tour to ensure our photographers have enough advance notice. At times, we can still operate a tour at short notice, but you will need to email us directly to sort out the details.
I don't see the Secure lock on your page
Some people experience an unsecured site when looking at our site. If this happens to you, please go to https://www.aperturetours.com/book-now and make sure you can see the lock in your browser address bar. This ensures your page is protected and you can book your tour securely.
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations for any reason made up to 7 days before the commencement of the tour will receive a 90% refund. Cancellations made between 7 days and up to 24hrs before the tour will be given a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 24hrs before the start of the tour, or if you fail to show up at the meeting point within 30 minutes of the scheduled time, will receive no refund. In any case, rescheduling is possible (availability permitting) for the fee of 50€.
We reserve the right to provide a photographer of our choosing, which we guarantee is competent of their position. Your assigned photographer might change from initial notification until the tour departure due to illness, engagements or any other reason deemed necessary by Aperture Tours, not limited to the photographers listed on this site. While we do our best to match you with a photographer of your choosing if requested, for these reasons we can not guarantee a specific photographer for an individual tour.
Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather, before the tour commences, you have the option of a) continuing the tour as planned and we do our best to concentrate the tour to areas under cover. At prior request, we can provide an umbrella. Or b) rescheduling the tour at no additional cost (availability permitting).
We collect customer information for internal statistics only. This information is kept confidential and not shared.
Portrait Session Specific T&C
We reserve the right to use any images made during a "Portrait Session" for use on the Aperture Tours website, social media and/or with third party vendors to promote Aperture Tours products.
